About Us

Matt’s Story

Matt Moran was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2015 and had to remove one of his kidneys. Doctors told him he was cancer-free, but then in late 2018 the cancer returned. From the beginning of his cancer journey, Matt taught us how to live fully and practice gratitude while facing many hurdles. In 2020, Matt felt nudged to start a blog and podcast, “With Gratitude Matt”. The blog and website was created to document his cancer journey and as a way to thank all the people who had been supporting him and his family. The podcast served as away to shine a light on gratitude, life lessons, and faith as tools to heal, live and love. As a result of his efforts, Matt touched a lot of listener’s lives and brought them hope, connection and ideas of how to go about their day in a better, healthier way. We are all better for having Matt in our lives.

 He taught us to:

  • find something you are grateful for everyday
  • be truly present for those you are with
  • ask yourself what you are feeding your mind, body and spirit

May you be blessed and inspired by Matt’s strength and legacy.

The Foundation

Matt taught us to be grateful and the WGM Foundation is keeping Matt’s lessons alive and continuing his work of inspiring others. We want to give back, stay connected, celebrate friendships and pay it forward. The foundation will help fund the WGM podcast and focus on ways support young people who may not have the means to engage in activities that foster their growth. We want to support them especially those individuals who show they have the courage to be grateful. In addition, creating awareness and helping fight the fear and burden of cancer will remain close to our hearts and part of who we are. Matt’s light, strength, and giving heart will live on in the benefactors of the With Gratitude Matt Foundation.

Our Mission

To inspire others with stories on the WGM podcast of how to overcome adversity, embrace gratitude, grow in faith, make a difference in other people’s lives, and find the courage to be grateful regardless of how powerful the storm. Special attention will be directed towards young adults and individuals with cancer and their families. Through the podcast and those we support, we seek to promote opportunities to connect, grow and be part of a larger community.

Our Values

  • GRATITUDE – finding the courage to be grateful
  • CONNECTIONS – learning from others and their journeys, blessing each person with the knowledge that they are never alone.
  • COMMUNITY – coming together in larger numbers to support each other and our families in working through whatever challenges might be in the way.
  • CLEAR FUTURE – to create a better path with less obstacles to joy, health, and love.

Our Vision for the WGM Fund

Funds will primarily be focused on supporting the podcast and helping provide an opportunity for a young person to have an experience that they would not be able to do otherwise. The WGM Fund will be a bridge to meet a need for a family.

We are committed to continuing to educate through the WGM podcast and creating experiences that cultivate gratitude, foster meaningful connections, build strong communities, and pave the way for a clear and promising future.

“As we listen intently to the inspiration of WGM, we reflect and align with living an active legacy and service to others.”  – Bob Prangley

ST. XAVIER: With our initial fundraiser, contributions were made to Matt’s Alma Mater supporting students and honoring the family connection.

“Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul. And those things are going to carry on forever.”
