The Ara Parseghian Medical Research foundation launched by this month’s WGM guest, Cindy Parseghian, transformed grief into a powerful mission. Cindy and her husband Mike lost 3 of their 4 children to Niemann-Pick disease type C (NP-C) but now dedicate much of their time towards funding revolutionary research and providing hope to patients and families around the world. With recent FDA approval of two therapies, patient quality of life is improving, life spans are extending, and more diagnoses are occurring in young adults with late-onset forms of NP-C. Cindy’s inspiring journey, driven by gratitude, faith and the memory of her children, has brought together a dedicated team to end NP-C.
