More the Same and Happy Fathers Day!

Anyone who has appreciated my humor over the years will completely understand this fact.  I usually either give the punch line too early or butcher it all together. That said this is no joke today.  We got more fantastic news this week.  Since the first scan, we continue to see reduction in size.  In a world where everyone is striving for bigger or more, I never knew how excited one could get from shrinking news. We were not only excited for the news, but we are so grateful all the prayers are being answered.  We are so blessed.

The more the same tag serves several different purposes. First off from a response standpoint we are seeing more the same.  We know that there are all types of responses.  It can be a lot of ups and downs for many patients.  As a result, I would like to pray for all those fighting this disease along side of me that find themselves down.  I pray that they may find the response they are fighting for.  Secondly, from a more the same standpoint, I want to draw your attention to the podcast I attached.  Sarah Brown Hosts the podcast Failing Forward.  Awesome job Sarah.  Her show with guest Dr. Rekha Chaudhary totally struck a similar cord with me.  She emphasized the role diet and stress can play on all sorts of ailments including cancer.  This is totally consistent with what we have heard from several experts. The last more the same correlation I will draw is towards what we do each day to reach our life goals.  More the same can lead to boredom, burnout and fatigue if not being done with a clear focus on the prize on the other end.  In achieving any long-term goal, you cannot simply focus on the goal and expect it to happen 2 or 3 years down the road.  We need determination, dedication and a clear action plan.  In my case my long-term goal is obviously to be disease free.  That said I must focus on one day at a time or more the same.

I am a planner to a fault sometimes.  With the situation I find myself in now, I think all my planning practice has prepared me well to tackle the task at hand.

So more the same!  More the same scan news, more the same from the podcast and more the same from my planning process.

For all the fathers out there, Happy Father’s Day.  I am so blessed to have an All American one! Love you Dad.

Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support. We feel your love.

God speed!
